I still have not done much in the way of updating this site but I needed to get some info out another horrible on-line shopping experience I have had.
What the heck happened to my site?! Well, in an effort to kick my butt in gear, and force myself to reorganize and redesign my site.
I've stripped out the look-and-feel elements and will slowly be working on applying an automated system of templates. I will also be deleting and or rearranging sections to help reign in some of the urban sprawl of my site architecture. This is a bit of an experiment. It's somewhat unsual to put the design process of a site out in the open. This should be interesting... check back soon for updates.
Some of the books I read in 2001:
Plowing the Dark by Richard Powers (4/5) • The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein (5/5) • Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal by Ayn Rand (4/5) • The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli (3/5) • Albrect Dürer by Jane Hutchison (3/5)
My Flash cartoon, The Ajenda Creativity Engine, won first place (category: Entertainment/Games) in Chicago's Association for Multimedia Communication's first annual FlashFest. Second place in this category went to Rick Carton's (of Carton Cartoons) ultra-slick video for the band Cane Corso, which went on to win Best of Show.
The transition to XHTML is almost complete. The entire site has been changed to XHTML. However, not all the pages validate yet. I am going through page by page and fixing bugs tonight.
This site is creeping into the twenty-first century. I have begun the translating the code for all these pages to XHTML and have completely separated style from content with a <table> free, CSS layout!
I've added some scans of some wood engravings I made to my art gallery. These babys are for sale! Cheap! Cheap! Cheap!
My wife, Wika, and I had artwork on display in this exhibition back in October of 2001. The show was made up of various students, faculty, and their spouses from Dr. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, which use to be located at the corner of Oak and Dearborn in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood.
Mark your calendars! Wika and I will have art on display at the Dr. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine during the month of October. The opening reception is on Friday, October 5th from 3pm-6pm. Drinks and other goodies will be served. Be there or be square.
